Gem Sculptures / Loving Larimar Collection

Helen has carved several pieces in larimar, this beautiful and rare gem material that is only found on the Dominican Republic. Larimar is a trade name for the blue variety of the mineral pectolite. Helen often receives compliments from her fellow carvers about her carved larimar pieces, as it is not an easy material to work with. She often combines larimar with other colored faceted gemstones, such as sapphires, tourmalines, and fire opals, and sets them both in gold and sterling silver.
